What are these?

I was recently given a whole lot of yarn and fabric from a lady who is no longer able to do her crafts.
Among these goodies were the items in the above picture.
I have tried many crafts in my life but never come across anything like these.
It looks as thought they come in pairs and the only thing that springs to mind is that they are knitting needles for miniature dolls clothes.  I know the lady was keen on dolls houses.

Any ideas?

  1. They are prickers and I forget the correct name for the other tool, but they are for bobbin lace making. The tool I forget the name is for pushing the lace to place the pins.
Bobbin lace uses lots of pins and they have to be positioned in certain places to make the the pattern.

  2. I have something similar, with a shorter handle and shorter spoke. They are prickers for quilting patterns, but these are too long. I suspect the previous commenter is right in her guess.

  5. Glad someone has an idea cos I don't! My best guess is that they are the sort of thing that would roll off my lap and get lost down the side of the sofa whenever the cat comes demanding a cuddle!

  10. Over 30 years ago I worked on huge commercial weaving looms. We used a tool like this for drawing in yarns, into the heddles. That's my best guess. We called them weavers hooks.
