SEA SPUME

I just thought you might be interested in this little video I made a few days ago when the weather was terrible, it was so blustery on the seafront and we came across this beach where the waves were creating a whole load of spume in the corner and it was blowing up over the prom and laying back onto the ground, it looked just like snow.
Isn't nature just wonderful

  1. Nature is beautiful, awesome to watch and here... once we were at the beach while a hurricane was looming, the wind was blowing this foam really hard, a big piece of foam hit bob right smack in his eyes. the foam has sand and salt and shell... it looked great but did not feel great. nature has her good/bad sides and you captures the sounds and good side

  3. The River St John runs for miles and runs in front of our house and in the Spring when the river floods, there's a thick white foam that forms along the edges of the river and when the water floods it's bank we get that same foam but I've never seen it fly in the air like that.

All that foam comes from industries up river that contaminate the water. When my husband was young they swam in the river but now no one swim in that water.

    Have a great week.

  4. Some of the spume is caused by natural decay of organic matter like branches and dead leaves in the water that gets mixed with air and water causing some bubbles but there are also some phosphorus from detergents that finds it way in the water when the tide is up.

Also the polluted air that gets mixed in the snow and rain finds it's way in the foam. It's not all harmful but one would have to analyse the foam to see if there are pollutant in there. With so many industries, I'm sure you would find some pollutants.

  9. My grandkids saw this for the first time this year during the storms, when I took them along the beach. They were scared at first, until I jumped on in and started to kick it about. We had great fun.
