WHY I DON'T DO CHRISTMAS TREES.

One of the reasons I didn't have a Christmas tree.

Happy new year to all of my followers and a big thankyou for all of your comments, they are appreciated.

  4. Our Kiera turned 15 on Boxing Day - this year she hasn't even had a sniff at the tree let alone box an ornament. I think she's finally become a mature adult cat- do Burmese ever become mature adults?!
Happy New Year to you Briony and also to Mr T.
    Take care

  6. That happened to a friend years ago. I went to visit a friend when my boys were toddlers and she opened the front door to us and said we've lost the kitten. As soon I walked into the room I said I can see it! She was quite surprised that I found it quickly, it was sitting at the top of the tree with its big eyes staring out sitting with the fairy! The tree was six foot!

  8. What's the problem, Briony.... didn't you know all the best dressed Christmas trees sport a plush pussy cat clinging to the branches..?

So far my wall tree has gone totally under the feline radar this year which is a bonus.

  9. ha-ha! That's hilarious! I haven't had one in a few years either. Jingles used to have a heydey with anything I put up. Much easier to breeze through the holiday without a bunch of stuff to put away. Best wishes, Tammy

  11. I said on my blog in the run up to Christmas, one year our cat climbed our tree, bit through the lights which went bang! Out she fell looking dazed and confused, shaking her head when the tree promptly fell on top of her!! Suzy xo

  15. We had a lot of baubles end up on the floor this year. This would be one explanation!

  16. Our old puss Dulux used to kill the tree. One year she protested by laying in the tree box when we were trying to put it away. We only have the three boys now (and the four dogs) but none have bothered just the odd ornament knocked over by the dogs tail...Oh and

    Lego ate Santa!!!

  17. Dear Briony
I can sympathise - we had to make sure all our tree ornaments were plastic for that very reason and our tree is smaller and up on a table now too! Have a very happy New Year.
    Best wishes

  18. LOL, well she matches the color scheme on the tree so it was an honest mistake.
I only had one cat that ever tried to climb a Christmas tree all the rest left it alone.

  19. Haha that made me chuckle, fortunately our cats don't climb the tree but they do pull the decorations off nightly..... sigh.

My husband says that it is coz they are down-holsterers, deconstructionalists and interior-decimators..... I just grit my teeth and grumble.

  20. Me neither! We had to take all of them down. How funny! Our son's cat did the same thing. We were gazing at the tree, and all of a sudden his cat's face. appeared from the inside of the tree. Better safe than sorry.

  22. She is beautiful and looks so contented.

Mine started eating the parcels and knocking down the ornaments but seemed to tire of it quite quickly.

Wishing you a Happy and healthy 2015.

  27. So cute! Do you coordinate your tree decorations to your cat or vice versa?!!

I had my son & his GF's cats to stay for Christmas while they were away and feared for the safety of my tree, but luckily they were more interested in exploring new territory so it escaped unscatheed... the curtains were another matter though!
