HAIRCUT SLIP UP

For years now I have been cutting Tom's hair for him.
We use clippers with the appropriate attachment for the length he wants it to be.

Over the years his hair has thinned a little but he does still have a full head of hair.
WELL
he did until the other day.

I always leave him to get the clippers out and get them ready for use, I am just the cutter.

Look what happened.
The silly old  $%^&^%$  forgot to put the attachment on.
I gaily started cutting and mowed the first path through and was horrified to find that he had forgotten to attach it.

What to do?

We could take the whole lot off or go around it.
We decided to go around it and so for a few weeks he is having to wear a baseball cap when he goes out. lol

It wasn't funny at the time but we can see the funny side of it now.

  1. I've seen this happen several times on tv comedy shows but never in real life. I can only imagine your thoughts when you took that first pass.

  4. Oh dear me! I cut Jack's hair, but use scissors so this is less likely to happen, I think, though I do sometimes get a bit carried away. I hope it grows back quickly.

  6. I am trying hard not to laugh but it is not working. glad you figured out to skip doing the whole head, which is what I would have done.... I told bob we needed one of these for my hair and he said no, he likes the scissors and now I am glad he said that...

  7. OH my gosh!!! Well, you just have to laugh at it. And it will grow back very quickly. In the meantime, you got a blog post from it, and maybe a good conversation starter.

  8. I have to admit, it's funny... although I imagine it wouldn't have been at the time. And it does remind me of when Penny (on the Big Bang) was cutting Sheldon's hair and he sneezed! So many men I know shave their whole head now, that it wouldn't have been unusual to do so, but of course it apparently wasn't what he wanted. But it's just hair... and it will grow back.

  10. It is quite funny, though I feel a bit sorry for him! I have used those cutters a long time ago and I don't trust myself with them!

  14. OH NO! :) that is horrible yet funny. Guessing now you will need to make another step and check behind him.

  15. Oh no!!! I'm glad you can laugh about it. Personally, I'd take it all off -- but then, I shave my head every week or so anyway!

  16. Thank you both so much for posting this. My son and I are nearly hysterical with laughing!
My son cuts his own hair with clippers, and says he's always terrified he'll do this. Oh how I wish......... Elle & son in Portsmouth

    1. I was so cross to start with as it was his fault, he was annoyed with his self, you can imagine what it was like. He's still wearing his base ball cap everywhere. I can see the funny side now. lol

  19. I did that to the hubs once. He insisted that the cutter was the right size.... He looked like a convict for weeks until it grew back

  20. I have to laugh. My hubby cut his own hair the other day. I came outside, took the clippers from him and forbid him to ever cut his own hair again. It was awful.
