Update on Princess

Princess came home yesterday afternoon and has eaten several very, very small amounts.
She wants to eat but when faced with the food just doesn't seem interested.
The vet has given me tablets and she isn't the best pill tablet taker, lol  but we are managing.
I have to ring the vet tomorrow and give a progress report and I have an appointment booked for Wednesday afternoon.
We are hoping that by then she will be eating a bit better.

IF YOU CAN TELL ME OF A GOOD CAT FOOD (IN UK)FOR THIS KIND OF COMPLAINT PLEASE EMAIL ME
thecrowsnest55@yahoo.com

The vet tells me she would be best on a low fat diet.
That makes three of us now as Tom and myself are also on low fat.

Tom has an appointment on Wed morning so Wednesday will be a busy day for us.

THANKYOU FOR ALL THE COMMENTS, YOU ARE SO KIND.

  1. I'm sorry to hear this and hope things improve quickly. When Jacob was off this food, I boiled boneless, skinless chicken and a wee bit of rice and that would get him going again. No onions as they are toxic to cats and chicken isn't meant as the full time diet, either.

  2. I know my Lily is a dog but she only eats royal canin low fat gastro intestinal tinned and dried food and boiled chicken now. When she was tube fed and a while after by mouth to she had their convalescence packet food. This was only to keep her alive as it is high fat.Sorry but I can't seem to do email x

  3. Just catching up now, and so sorry to hear this bad health news! I hope both Tom and Princess continue to improve. In the states I used to give my cat Fancy Feast when she wasn't feeling well -- but I don't know whether that's here in the UK, and in any case it's probably just the opposite of low-fat!

  4. Annie had many issues years back and I put her on Royal Canin Digest canned which she loved and is still eating now. She liked the Loaf in sauce best. I hope you can at least find it and try it on Princess.

  5. I am so sorry! Our cat is on pills now, too! Here is what the vet told me, and it works! Cats love baby food, and it is pure. Wait, I am just e-mailing you with lots of info.

  7. I was going to suggest finely chopped chicken breast (very low fat) like several of the other people. It is not a complete diet but may at least get her interested. Then add in some canned cat food. Our vet gave us Royal Canin when Tippy had the thyroid problem which is a whole different matter though.
Hope you can find something to spark her interest.

  11. Glad she's doing a bit better and hope you can find a good food she will enjoy. Cats are picky. :-)

Hope Tom will soon be doing better too.

  14. I would suggest tinned fish like pilchards or sardines> Something really stinky. Here in the US we have fancy feast which is just a potted meat kind of cat food, but the only thing my cats can eat without throwing up and its just mulched fish with some vitamins. But I would try anything that stimulates an appetite at least for the time being.

  15. I hope Princess is improving. When Lily was poorly it was very slow. She refused all food. The vet said she could go a few days without food but had to drink-she refused so had to be on a drip during vets opening hours for another 5 days after the immediate 2 days x
