PASSION FLOWER and FOOTSTOOL TAKEN.

Sitting in the window this morning having my breakfast I noticed a spiral on the Passion Flower plant the we bought last year for quick coverage up the stairs.

Maybe its just me but I am constantly amazed at Mother nature.
Just look at how the feeler has twisted itself into a sort of spring, obviously to enable the plant to be anchored and move about in the wind without damage.

Yesterday I read in the newspaper that flowers that have nectar increase it when a Bee flies past to attract them to it.
How wonderful is that and maybe Prince Charles isn't mad talking to his plants after all.

Back to the cats.

I have a large footstool under my desk.
No chance of using it last night as Polly had decided that it was a nice quiet place for her to have a nap.
Did I move her?
Of course not, I just adjusted my feet after getting a glare that said 'Move me at your peril' lol

  1. of course you left the cat, I can't tell you how many times I sit with my legs in an uncomfortable way, fitting around a dog in the hole under the desk. our passion plant was amazing and here grows year round so took over the yard. it can cling to anything and it is amazing to me. I did not know about the pollen waving in the bees....

  4. That spiral is amazing. It really looks man-made. It looks exactly like the cord on our wall telephone! What a cute little hidey/napping place Polly found! I think you may have to buy another one if you ever want to use yours again!

  5. Jingles is very stubborn and gets quite angry if I try to move here from a comfy spot, even if that spot is inconvenient for me or in my way. :/ I was so amazed last year when I grew some pumpkin vines. They put out so many tendrils and attached themselves to anything in reach. Mother Nature is truly amazing!

  6. Those kinds of tendrils really are something, aren't they? I didn't know about the plants increasing nectar; that's amazing too. Nature is wonderful, when it's not being murderous :)

Our cats have the pick of beds and furniture, yet they will sleep in the oddest spots. The more inconvenient for us, the better, I sometimes think :)

  7. That's fascinating how it made that spiral.
Polly probably knew you wouldn't dare move her.

  9. I remember taking seeds from a passion flower once expecting a few to germinate, suddenly they were everywhere. When I arrived home I found that Benji had found himself a new bed for the night by pulling down one of the towels on the bathroom floor, like other comment, did I move him? No and he was back there the next night. xcx

  12. Your cats must get very exasperated - having to share their house with two annoying humans.

  14. Our plants amaze us every day. It is incredible how nature adapts. I hope our passion flower grows back after the rather severe pruning I gave it several weeks ago!
