EVIL EYE

I'm not sure if you will remember but Tom was working on a tapestry with a picture of a cat's head.

Well he finished it and I finally got around to making it into a cushion.

Unfortunately I have to have it on show with the back facing us.

It has a kind of spooky look to it and I can't bear to see it staring at me. lol

We didn't notice it while he was making it but sitting there on the kitchen sofa it is , well, what can I say.

Just Spooky

What do you think?

  4. Well, I’m not a great fan of disembodied heads, so I see your problem. But it’s a shame because a lot of work went into it!

  5. HA! Well, far be it from me to impugn Tom's work, but I can see where you're coming from. I do like the Tudor collar, though!

    1. We are with Sandra - the mouth is strangely anthropomophic (a human smile) but not spooky at all.

  8. Well, I agree! But it is also kind of humerous. And his needlework is beautiful!

  9. Hmmmmm.. I think it would have to grow on me a bit before I was comfortable putting it on display!

  10. I love it! I see a wonderful, self-assured feline face, haughty, yes, but willing to tolerate humans! I have to laugh that you don't like it looking at you! But then again, as a college student, I was too afraid to sleep in my apartment with a book of Poe's short stories. I had to put it outside the door at night!

  14. The eyes definitely follow you! Does the pattern have that spooky look or is it Tom who has inadvertently given it his own twist?!
    Best wishes
