Yesterday I posted a picture of Willow on the sofa and several people admired the shawl on the back of the sofa.
I made this some time ago and did post about it but maybe a lot of new bloggers did not see the post.
It is a shawl / scarf but could easily be made bigger for a throw. Notice someone had to get in on the action.
Here's a close upo of the flowers. I made this with Alpaca yarn, nice and warm but it could be made with any yarn of your choosing.
The pattern comes from this book, only problem is that is it written in Japanese but if you have a knowledge of crochet patterns you should be able to follow the diagram below.
good luck if you decide to give it a go.
It is beautiful! Spring flowers in bloom. I am so glad you showed us up close up. I don't remember your previous post of it, but then again, I don't remember much anymore...
ReplyDeleteall I saw was the CAT and the Pillow.. had to go back and see the throw and there it is. this time I noticed YOU in the window, did not see the window, you or blinds and curtains. hope I am never called to be a witness to pick someone out of a line up. this is really pretty. my mother made one similar, she used white soft yarn and made it in a triangle and wore it as a shawl, back when shawls were IN.
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty. I cant read Japanese though and I'm not great with figuring out those kinds of patterns
ReplyDeleteso pretty but my crochet skills do not even reach basic level
ReplyDeleteIt's really pretty on the back of the couch, thanks for showing us more closely.
ReplyDeleteI hesitate to say this, but you may be breaching copyright by publishing the chart. Really, we should all buy the book if we want to make it. Unless you have the author's permission to show it, of course.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, how lovely. Looks very complicated!
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of those crochet flowers that I still need to put together in a shawl. I think mine are a different pattern.
ReplyDeleteYours look daintier than the ones I did. Love yours.
