TOM, PINCUSHION.

We're back home and all good glad to say.
Tom will have to have his gall bladder removed at some time but there are complications with that and these will have to be assessed first.
We have to see the Cardiologist first to get his heart put right and then the Anaesthetist to see if it will be safe to have the op.
Meanwhile he is on a very low fat diet and I have joined him.
I could do with losing weight and since doing this have not suffered from any indigestion, so, everything has a good side. lol
Thankyou for all of your good wishes.

Meanwhile the pincushion is finished.

I now have another idea up my sleeve of making a fabric journal.
It's in the early stages and I will show you later.

Rupert making use of the pile of throws.
All the kitties are pleased to see Dad, especially Rupert as he sleeps on Tom's bed.

  1. It's the finishing off that makes a project what it is. In this case the gold button and extra gold thread certainly make this beautiful pincushion just - beautiful lol. Did I miss you saying if it was to be a gift or to be kept for yourself?
And good news about Tom - once all these Dr's visits and decisions are made he'll have an idea of what's to be done ~ Cathy

    1. Hi Cathy, thanks for the comment. I did't make the pincushion for any other reason than to amuse myself. I don't know any other people who sew other than on the blog. I shall probably use it myself as mine is a bit tatty.
Tom is fine now thank goodness but it was a bit of a scare as we thought he was having a heart attack, the pain was so severe.
All these things just make you appreciate life more and be more determined to make every moment count.

  4. I have arrhythmia, and every time I had chest pains, I was in the ER until "they" decided to x-ray my gall bladder. I went through a year of that. Once the gall bladder was gone, no more chest pains. I hope the doctors find nothing wrong with Tom's heart and they can go ahead with the surgery.
    Your pin cushion is beautiful!

  6. Beautiful pincushion! As I think I said before, I could never bring myself to stick pins in it.

Sorry to hear about the health issues, but glad things are moving forward. Rupert looks a bit pin-cushiony himself!

  8. The pin cushion is a dark beauty, and matches Rupert! Sorry to hear about all of this. Will he have it done by laparoscopy? I had mine out this way and it was a breeze. He will also feel so much better after it is gone.
