CINEMA

Our youngest son recently told us about a cinema in Worthing that is cheap and cheerful and also shows all of the latest films.
It's not the most modern of buildings and not very big inside but that suits us.
The seats were nice and comfortable and the staff very helpful, hooray.
I like the cinema but very rarely go because of the ridiculous prices.

As you can see it was probably built in the 30's.
Prices are £3.50 on Wednesday and £5.00 at other times, very good I'm sure you'll agree.
And so we decided to give it a go on Sunday and went to see 'Churchill.

Maybe its just us but we were so disappointed with this film.  We both thought it dull and dreary with not a lot going on.
A lot of what I call tableau scenes for effect and we found it boring.

On Wednesday we are going to take advantage of the £3.50 day and go and see Tom Hanks and Merly Streep in 'The Post', Let's hope this is better.

Will let you know.

  5. I read a review of The Post yesterday and thought it sounded worth watching, so I hope you enjoy it more than the Churchill film.

  6. The one in Clacton is £3.50 all the time a £1 rise on last year but has all the latest films. We have to travel there (16miles) so combine it with shopping and a day out.

  11. Hello Briony, I just stopped by for a visit and I think I will stay. Your post on Kate Steeper page caught my attention. I browsed the last few of your post and thoroughly enjoyed myself. While i' not an orange sort of person I really like how your kitchen is turning out, and perfect with the flooring. Your banner is fresh and pretty as well. Did you take the photo?
I'm looking forward to becoming friends with you and Tom. Please know you both are in my prayers and Kate as well. I'm thinking you will like the Post, waiting to hear.

  12. I do go to matinees occasionally, the price is good, and there are 2 small theaters with good movies in this town. I saw "The Darkest Hour" and loved it, Oldman seems to become Winston Churchill. Is the Churchill movie you saw a different movie?

  13. We haven’t been to the cinema for a long time. I do like to be snuggled up at home watching a film, but you can’t get the atmosphere you get in the cinema on the big screen xx

  14. Before going to see a film you should consider checking out some online reviews. I always find that Mark Kermode tells it like it is.
