We have an electric log effect fire in the lounge.
Ever since we've it, it has hummed (not as in smell, lol).
Recently it has really started to make a racket, so much so that you can sometimes hear it over the tv.
We've put pads on the bottom of the feet and this helps but Tom decided to have a look at it.
It's okay, he used to be an electrician so there was no disasters, lol
After tightening all the screws and fiddling about he has made it a bit better but it still hums a bit.
Has anyone else had a similar problem and if so what did you do to rectify it?

Another jigsaw done and dusted.
This time a 'What If ' one.
This is the picture on the box.
But the finished jigsaw is a picture of what happened next, bit tricky but fun.
New one on the board now, will show when finished.
All excited this morning. A book I have been waiting for is in for collection from the Library.
This is the Author of the Harry Potter books writing under another name.
I've enjoyed all of these Cormoran Strike novels.
Looking forward to this one.

That jigsaw idea is very clever. Besides, whenever I see The Antiques Roadshow I'm kind of hoping that one of the experts will smash something. Is that so wrong?
ReplyDeleteDepends if you value these things. I do not hold much value to anything as I feel it will all be left behind when I'm gone. I can never understand when usually the first thing people ask is 'how much is it worth?' it really annoys me.
DeleteI suppose some people like things for sentimental reasons and I fully understand that
.
I picked up my reserved book from the mobile library on Tuesday. I'm dancing around with glee. Made a start and it's riveting, will put it on my blog when I've finished it.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you last week when I went to Yam's blog and she had one of her electronic puzzles on line. I have shared with you before that I can't and don't do puzzles. for the first time in my life, I did a puzzle, not as hard as these, and it did take me 17 minutes to do it, you could proablly do it in half that time. but I did it. I can see how it makes you use your brain power... if you want to try it here is her post.. she sent me a link to all her puzzles and I am going to try another one. if you do it let me know how much faster you were... things that HUM make me crazy, like the ceiling fan, humming or ticking and rattles in the car. OH MY... no idea how to fix it

forgot to say WHAT a surprise, the same but not the same on the puzzle. I do love that show
ReplyDeleteThis is how I got into jigsaws Sandra. I started with this site. http://www.lenagames.com/
DeleteI like to do 1,000 piece jigsaw.I bought one in a charity shop last week and when I finished it there were 6 pieces missing. Most annoying.
ReplyDeleteIf I recall the electric logs we have made a noise. I couldn't hear it but Wade could. I don't think he ever did figure anything out for it.
ReplyDeleteFun puzzle
Goodness, how annoying with the hum. This is such a different jigsaw!! You find the best ones!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great concept for a puzzle! I hope you figure out the hum in the electric fire. Those things can be a worry at worst, a nuisance at best.
ReplyDeleteI haven't started "Lethal White" yet but I'm really looking forward to it! Got a few other things to get through first...
ReplyDeleteThat puzzle is funny. Hope that show has insurance!
I love your interesting things you blog about just dont have help with the humming and think that is a very interesting puzzle too
ReplyDeleteTom is such a talented guy! I didn't know that he was an electrician.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool puzzle. We aren't able to do puzzles on a table because our kitties are not as well behaved as yours are. I occasionally do little puzzles online at https://www.dailyjigsawpuzzles.net/
Can't help with humming noise but your post reminded me that long ago mum and dad had a log electric fire which was set into a false fireplace and it always looked so cheerful. Certainly can't remember a hum though.
ReplyDeleteLove the jigsaw puzzle. I used to do them years ago, even had special board so I could put it away when not being done. Gave all mine to the local library where they lend them out. I have often wondered how many pieces were lost each time they were on loan.
Love the cat embroidery.
That puzzle is great! May I ask if you favor any one brand of puzzle over another? I've heard some brands have better quality pieces than others, etc. Thank you~ Andrea
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a trickster puzzle like that before.
ReplyDeleteRe the fire does it have a fan to distribute the heat I wonder if it could be that? Great puzzle x
