ALL OVER BACK TO NORMAL

Well I hope you all had the Christmas that you wanted.
We were still both not quite right over Christmas having had the lurgy but it was okay.
I'm not a fan of this celebration and look forward more to the new year and watching the new buds forming.  My honeysuckle is already giving me a bit of joy by showing lots of new buds. Next I watch for the Snowdrops and Crocus.

We've been down to the Optician's and got all the glasses sorted out.  We go to Vision Express, so nice and civilised.
We tried Specsavers once but felt like we were in a cattle market being shunted from tiny space to tiny space sitting crammed in shoulder to shoulder with others, not nice.

The Optician is now a firm friend of mine after he told me that I didn't look 72 years old,  I walked on a cloud for the rest of the day. lol

The Shopping centre was nice and empty so I'm not sure how the sales are going, certainly there were not many folks there yesterday.
I'm not interested in walking around the shops anymore, the only shops that hold an attraction for me are cafe's where I can sit and people watch with a nice cappuccino.

Now its back to the needlework and I'm so pleased with this cat.
This morning I have filled in the flowers with gold seed beads.
I am looking at more colouring patterns with a view to using them for embroidery, such a good idea.

I hope you all have the new year you want and enjoy .
I shan't be making any new  year resolutions,  only to take each day and make the most of it.

  1. Glad you're feeling better, Briony. I too love Spring and all the bulbs coming out, along with the blossom, everything fresh and new and full of promise, it's my favourite time of year. Bet you could have kissed that optician!

    1. Oh, and I meant to say....there can't be much wrong with your eyesight when you can do such fine detailed beautiful embroidery.

  5. For the new year, I would like to foster good habits and actually keep up with them. And, of course, stick with blogging as I did rather poorly at it for most of this year. Glad to hear you are both better. Christmas was different when the kids were little. Now, I decorate just a bit, but definitely don't feel the need to buy a lot of presents or spend a lot of money. There's been some good sales here so I did buy some shirts for me and my husband but that's about it. Always nice when someone tells you that you look younger than your years. :) Your cat stitching is going to be absolutely gorgeous!

  9. I must say I breathed a sigh of relief after Christmas here, too. And who doesn't like being told they look younger than their years? (Well, teenagers mind, but aside from them :))

  11. When I taught art in an elementary school, the children often thought I was very young - but that doesn't count, does it? When I was in my fifties they would have guessed me at 25. Love your needlework. I can't imagine the patience that takes, but your work is just beautiful.
