On Tuesday we noticed that Rupert had not eaten or drunk any water all day and was listless.
He remained in the same place under the radiator all night and didn't want to go out in the morning and so we took him to the vet.
One injection and some pills and fur ball stuff we came home.
Wednesday morning we took him back as he still had not eaten or drunk and was now not even responding when we spoke to him.
Another injection, rehydrated and taken home.
Thursday taken back again and had some blood tests done, nothing very abnormal but told to take him back tomorrow.
This morning, Friday, he had his x ray and it showed something in his intestine, told it could be a tumour or fur ball.
I had been telling them all along that he suffered from large fur balls but they seemed to think they knew better.
This afternoon he had an operation and the vet removed an 8cm long fur ball from his intestine, ( this is the usual size of the balls he coughs up) if this had been left for a few more days it could have killed him.
He is in vet hospital tonight and they are giving us a call in the morning.
I'm sure you can imagine what sort of a state we have been in.
Just hoping that it all goes well and we can soon have him home.
