All of my life it seems I have been concerned and even paranoid about my weight.
Even when I was a child I was always larger than most kids, not fat, but heavy.
Taking part in the sports day was a nightmare as I couldn't run to save my life.
Through my teens and after having the children, diets were a continual thing. The 5 a day diet, the grapefruit diet etc and none of them worked for long.
Tom and I have eaten pretty much the same all through the years, so what I would like to know is, why has he stayed the same weight and can eat pretty much anything and not get fat when all I have to do it look at a cake or bar of choccy and I put on pounds?
I do understand that a lot of kids now are obese and possibly the reason is that they are not active.
We used to be playing out in the street from dawn to dusk, running and cycling and its a shame that with the amount of cars now this isn't possible but I'm sure that eating is not always the reason for obesity.
We are all made differently and our bodies work in different ways.
I've got to the stage now when I'm not bothered any more. I've thrown away the scales and seem to stay around the same weight.
Looking back I wish I'd done that years ago and not tormented myself thinking that I shouldn't be the shape I was.
What's your take on this subject?
