DRUG ADDICTS AND ROOT

I blogged about the Acanthus that had broken and I had put into water hoping to get some roots grow.
I omitted to say that there was some root already on it.
I bet you must have though me a dodo to think that roots could grow from a flower stem. lol

This is the bit of root that broke off.
Now what do you think the chances are of me getting roots if I leave it in water?

I was making another mouse and decided to put a little bit of catnip inside.
When I get the box of catnip out and even before I have removed the lid they all appear from nowhere.
Their sense of smell must be awesome.
Then the 'smelly bags' were distributed to each cat and there was lots of drooling and rolling around as if in ecstacy.
I keep the bags that are also filled in the box so that they are impregnated with the smell.

We now have 5 zonked out cats. lol

  1. I always put bits of plant in water. Nine times out of ten it will form roots.

  3. I love the photo of the zonked out cats! It might root - lots of plants do root in water and it's worth a go.

  5. I had no idea that catnip does this. So they sniff the catnip and it makes them go to sleep? Or do they eat it. I think that route microbe and it's worth the try

  7. Love the photo of all the cats. I bought a cat nip plant once and my cats weren't interested in it. Perhaps it was the wrong plant.

  9. Doesn't hurt to leave it in water. I pulled a small branch from a bush at our park a few weeks ago and put it in water and it is still alive. I don't think I'll get roots but as long as it's still green, I'm keeping it. Jingles has lost all desire for anything, even catnip which she used to love. She lives only for tuna. :) Funny to see all 5 cats laid out together.

  13. I've put lots of things in water and gotten roots so I didn't think it was silly at all.
    Those are some happy cats.

  14. It is so funny watching our older cat, Sparky, having a wonderful time with catnip while the other one sits with the dog and wonders what all the fuss is about. It just doesn't seem to register with her at all. Your little gang look extremely relaxed!

  15. Thank you for your visit to Small moments blog. Nice to meet new friends.
I'm sure it is worth trying the root in water, it will probably surprise you. Carrots will root again apparently.

  16. HA! I love your zoned-out cats! Yes, I see what you mean about the acanthus -- with a bit of root already on there it may actually work. I have no idea whether acanthus roots better in water or soil...maybe a good subject for Internet research?
