I have not blogged for a while due to overload of almost everything.
I'm sick and tired of listening, reading, hearing and watching anything to do with the 'Virus'.
Every blog is mentioning it and I don't need to be reminded. I know its there but I have to get on with other things and have my own opinions of the b thing.
Life it difficult enough when you reach a certain age and every day is a slog. Health takes its toll and knowing that time is not on your side is difficult to get to grips with. The recent heatwave just about bought us both to a standstill and not being able to function even at our usual snail pace was frustrating.
It's not always easy to be upbeat and positive even on the blog so I thought the best thing was to give it a break. I've done that and am now starting afresh.
The cats are all fine and glad not to have to lay still like sausages each day waiting for the evening to come for a bit of cool. lol
Tom was actually not bad with the breathing throughout, it's the damp and heavy weather that affects him most, so we were at least grateful for that. My joints on the other hand didn't like the heat at all and are still giving me jip. A visit to actually talk to a doctor about the situation would maybe help but it seems we are all doomed to only be able to discuss things over the telephone and I'm not sure how a Doctor can diagnose properly without actually seeing you.
On the bright side, I am making bunting.
6 down and 4 to go should do it.
I plan to put it around my mantelpiece
Good to have you back. xxxReplyDelete
Your bunting is lovely; is it hard to make? Yes, as a senior and a widow it is tiring at times for me to keep my chin up. I don't watch TV news, it is too biased and depressing. Then I came to read your post and saw your wonderful bunting, a nice spirit raiser.ReplyDelete
It is beautiful and perfect! I am glad to read your true feelings, because I think most of us seniors feel the same way. The way the world is now, it is so much harder for us at this age, I have really been struggling with it as well. Wishing you both well, my friend!ReplyDelete
Lovely to hear from you again! I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with the heat we've found it difficult too. Today's been cooler here, so much better for us and for the cats. Your crochet bunting looks so pretty.ReplyDelete
I kept returning only to find "Smiling Bo". Nice to have you back again "Smiling Briony". Please do not stay away so long next time.ReplyDelete
I'll try YP.Delete
I know exactly how you feel. I scroll through facebook every day and it's the same depressing things over and over. I'm glad you're back to blogging.ReplyDelete
Love the bunting. That will look wonderful hanging on your mantel.
That bunting will be lovely on your mantelpiece.ReplyDelete
I'm so glad to see you back, Briony. I understand your struggles and share them. The world seems to be in an upheaval, in one form or another, and I too tire of hearing about it all. I'm sorry you don't have air-conditioning in your home, as I know that would make living so much easier for you & your husband. Try to hang in there, ok? Much love, Andrea xoxoReplyDelete
Andrea, over here in uk we generally do not need air'con. we only get the extreme heat for a very short while in the summer. we aren't used to this and that is what makes us moan so much about it, lolDelete
Love your bunting! I think I prefer it without a tassel. Hang in there.ReplyDelete
I'm going to make one with tassels and see what it looks like Jane.Delete
Lovely to see you back again and that bunting is just so cute. I bet it will look really pretty when you have it strung up.ReplyDelete
I hope you're feeling a little bit better now some cooler weather has arrived. I say that but I'm in Yorkshire, I hope it's better down south now too, I know you've had it much worse there than here. Your bunting is lovely, so pretty, it will look fabulous around your mantelpiece.ReplyDelete
Nice to have you writing again...I have checked every day!! I am also very glad that the heat has gone, though it is still so " muggy"..or it was yesterday. (Not done the dog walk yet)ReplyDelete
I love the " bunting", it will look lovely on a fireplace. ( something we don't have...just radiators here!)
We still have the lovely old fireplaces but do not use them any more, can't get rid of them they are such a feature in the room.Delete
The bunting is so pretty, I totally understand you needing a break we all feel like that sometimes. I agree with you about not being able to see a Doctor too, I had a consultation by phone last week, I wanted to see her personally I felt she needed to do an examination and look at a rash I had. All I can say is lots of serious illnesses will get missed because of the situation. Our weather here in the North East has been cool throughout we rarely get very hot temperature. I hope you have a good week, great to see you posting again.xReplyDelete
I love the Bunting and did not know what it was called but my mother used to make things very similar to death. It's funny but I did a post yesterday phone madsnapper about what you're talkin about the overwhelmingness of life is trying to shut me down. Glad to see you back and got the cats are okay and your hubby too.ReplyDelete
Nice to see you back, Briony. All the constant virus stuff does get you down, I agree. I know it's a fact of life and affects us all, but we've still got to carry on - it irritates me like hell sometimes when we're constantly told what we can and can't do...especially when those telling us don't take their own advice! The bunting is lovely.ReplyDelete
I don't blame you for being sick of it all -- the virus is a drag for all of us. And I'm sure the heat was no fun for you. (Nor was it for us!) Glad you're back on the blog scene, and good luck with the bunting!ReplyDelete
I just called the doctor and was told that all the bookable appointments were taken until next Wednesday! But they are still only telephone consultations unless after speaking to you the doctor decides they need to see you. I wonder how long this will carry on!ReplyDelete
I'm so glad it's cooled down now, that heat was unbearable.
I'm with you on the virus thing, I could say more but I won't.
LOVE the bunting ♥
Welcome back. We so totally know what you mean about the human disease and coming on the back of endless climate change doom.... It's like there's no other news in the world - meanwhile politicians are getting away with goodness knows what because no one is looking at them; and conflicts and famine, and even the good news like (justdiggit.com) get completely ignored. We had to stick that web address in there because a friend gave it to us recently and it seemed like a really good news thing in a world of....well you said it. Meanwhile the buntings look great - there is something really attractive about plain white crochet.ReplyDelete
