With five cats in the house it's inevitable that there is sometimes the odd spatt or two.
I can't say that any one of them are worse than the others, they all take their turn at it.
When the hissing or growling starts we shout the aggressors name very firmly but it seems that with old age they are all a little deaf other than when you call them for their food.
So I have decided to make a load of crochet balls and place them strategically around the rooms as ammunition for stopping things before they get out of hand.
1 soft crochet ball on the boko should put an end to it and peace will be restored.
p.s. We have an appointment at the pharmacy for mid oct, thank you for all of your suggestions.
Have you tried it out? Looks more like something the cats will play with!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea!!! Distraction tactics!! Glad you got the Flu jab appointment sorted :-) keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThe crochet ball is a thing of beauty in its self.
ReplyDeleteA good idea.
ReplyDeleteWell I think that is an excellent idea. It will distract them from the aggressive behavior and maybe give them something else to direct their attention to. I wonder if a bigger version would work on Gibbs for when he goes to the window and barks like an idiot at anything that moves outside.
ReplyDeleteTigger suggests putting a little catnip in it.... xxxxx to his furry cousins.
ReplyDeleteWhen one of your babies (cats) misbehaves you should stick him/her in prison for an hour or two. I believe you have a cat carrying basket. That will make an ideal prison for the offender or Tom could easily manufacture one - perhaps with electric shock wires included. Just an idea.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried a spray bottle with water? That will usually break up a fight really quick!
ReplyDeleteI used to roll socks into a ball - not as pretty as your solution though.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you could get an appointment at the pharmacy and that should be indoors and no problems with standing out in the rain I am still in a State of Shock over that! What a great idea and that ball is really pretty you can put a hook and those and hang them on a Christmas tree
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to find out if this works; be sure and let us know!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea. I will ask my son if he would like me to make a set. They have four cats.
ReplyDelete"Bonker balls" is what I'd call them.... for bonks on the heads of the current offender. *haha* Brilliant idea!! :-) ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteSuch a good idea. So glad you managed to get sorted for your flu jab.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got an appointment. There is always a rush to get the jab here at our surgery when it is first announced. People can wait a few weeks and get it done a lot quicker without having to queue.
ReplyDeleteWe have 5 cats also, and a feral cat we've been feeding for a while we hope will be trapped, vetted, and coming inside before winter. There are water spray bottles in every room for those scrabbles. Often we only have to grab the bottle now - they don't stick around to get sprayed!
