JIGSAWS

Going back briefly to Tom's glasses, they came on Saturday and have made a noticeable difference.

Why they thought that just because he was old and had a cataract he wouldn't want to see properly is beyond me, but reading some of your comments it seems that lots of us are getting shoddy treatment.

----------------------

Anyway

We were beginning to get into a Jigsaw panic as during the lock-down  the charity shops and the car boots have been a no no.

This is where we get most of our jigsaws from and the pile we have hoarded was going down.

I'd say we go through 2 a week, sometimes more.

Then Matt (son) suggested that we look on Facebook Market Place. We are not very knowledgeable about Facebook and had never heard of this, but its a place where you can buy and sell.

If you put in your area where you live you can find all sorts of things local .

Lo and behold up came loads of jigsaws and we contacted a lady, who like us does them constantly and had some for sale.

They cost more than we usually pay at the car boot but when you have a 'habit' you need your fix or you suffer withdrawal symptoms. lol

We duly came back with 10 jigsaws for £30.

We've kept in touch with this lovely lady and hopefully we have found a new supplier.

I recommend jigsaws as a great relaxer, once we are sitting down with a jigsaw all the troubles of the world go a way for a bit.

  1. I'm so glad you folks have a new stash of puzzles for awhile and hopefully this woman can keep supplying you. Doing puzzles is one of the "good addictions" to have. :-) ~Andrea xoxo

  2. sounds like a good deal to me, on 3 per box, is not a bad price.. i pay a fortune to feed my hubbies addiction to sports and other shows on TV... worth every penny. I do wish I liked puzzles and games, but neither of us do. I tried one and I also tried doing the adult color book, i have friends who love those. did a half page and gave it to my friend...i do my play time on computer but need something for when the power goes out... or cable/internet. i know a lot of people who do the online puzzles. a blog friend has her own site becasue she creates them... if you want to check it out for yourself, here is the link https://www.jigsawplanet.com/yammacca

  3. Well, that sounds like it works out well for her AND for you! Excellent! I've never used Facebook Marketplace either. Didn't even know it existed, in fact.

    1. I didn't know about it until Matt told me. It's the little blue house on the left hand side.

  6. That will keep you going for awhile. Gerard and I like to do a jigsaw at this time of year, when we can't get out and about as much. Glad the new glasses have arrived.

  7. You've got a few there to go at. It's years since I've done a jigsaw but Mick bought me a wasgij last year for Christmas, though I haven't attempted it yet.

  8. I'm glad Tom got his glasses I should think so too. It's great you've managed to get all those jigsaws I bet you can't decide which one to do first. I used to love doing them myself but it's years ago. I will get back into them at some point.

  10. Wow, you made a good haul! I see at least one 1,00 piece, so you both must be pros. That is way too hard for us, we stick to the smaller ones. I hope you will be showing them to us when they have been completed.

  11. I agree, we went through a couple of winters doing wasgijs. We loved the fact it was jigsaw with a difference.

  12. I must have done about 15 jigsaws since lockdown started. I have been buying new and charity shop ones and also swapping with a friend, but am now down to doing some of mine again. I like the look of the ones you chose....my sort of pictures. I wish I had kept some of the old ones I used to have years ago to do again again!

    1. That's the good thing about jigsaws, you can do them at a later date and still enjoy them.

  13. If you go into Facebook and search "Brighton free" you will find various groups that put things on for free. Even cheaper than the source you have now.
