OPPORTUNIST

This morning I've been up in the big cupboard in the spare room trying to make room.
This is the 'throw all' cupboard for useful things that might be needed in the future but very rarely are.
I have so many pillows that I save for the stuffing for toys etc that will probably never be made and decided that I must be brave and start throwing these things out.
To save me going up and down the stairs I threw them over the top to pick up later.
Rowan decided to make them her 'best spot' for the morning and we are picking our way along the hall until she decides to move.
That's the kind of thing cat lovers do because we are all nuts. lol

The crochet throw is coming along nicely (shown in progress above) and I'll soon show the finished square.
It's taking more time as I'm doubling up and making the exact same square each time with some of my own wools in different colours so that I will have two throws the same but different wool and colours in the end.

Mr.Hedgehog has not been seen since but that doesn't mean he's not coming, still keeping an eye out for him.

  1. My friend has a mama Great Pyrnees dog named Rowan and her two giant puppies are Nemo and Cupid. just said that because I thought it. Your Rowan is in cat heaven, she may never move ha ha... the room i have my computer in is the throw all until i can't stand to look at it. right now we need someone to help move the 100 pound dog crate and a giant toaster oven out to the curb for pick up... good idea saving the pillow stuffing, that stuff is expensive

  2. I am the same way with our Simba, will not make him move if he's in the way. And of course, cat's love sitting in the spot that will cause the most inconvienence!

  3. Rowan - never miss an opportunity. I make a great noise about being allowed to get into the cupboard where such things are stored. F puts all the quilts and pillows into bags to stop my fur going all over, and I occasionally get treated to permission to enter. (It is called the Russian cupboard in our house, because when you open the door, things come rushin' out). Maybe you could claim one as a permanent piece of Rowan furniture then it would have been put to good use after all. Big purrs Mr T

  5. The throw is looking splendid. Don’t leave it where the cats think it’s just for them!

  9. Oh, how we love our pets. Last night I had the fun of getting a small bull snake safely away from one of my cats (the one that was feral and crawling across the Interstate that my son saved), and then comforting him because mean mommie took his "toy" away...

  10. Archie always spots an opportunity too and we're so daft, we nearly break our necks stepping over him or walking round him rather than move him. The colours of your blanket are lovely.

  11. The position of cat and pillow looks lethal. One false move and you could be headfirst down the stairs.

  13. A cat knows how to get comfortable. We could learn a lot from them. I love your crochet, Briony, especially the colors. Gorgeous! ~Andrea xoxo
