SUNSHINE CAFE

Since the 'P' thing hit us Waitrose Café has been closed and so we had to find an alternative to get our coffee fix.

Sorry Waitrose but you've lost us  for good as we've discovered a lovely little Café called 'Sunshine Café' and the coffee and food is fabulous.

Naughty but nice Cappuccino with a slice of the most delicious brownie I have ever tasted.

They call it a 'Books and Art Café' as you can buy second hand books and various kinds of arts and craft there as well as eating.

The best thing is that the owner doesn't mind how long you sit there with your paper or book and the music is soft and lulling in the background.
We frequent this café 2 or 3 times a week.

  1. Marvellous that you and Tom have found this quirky place and it is great that you are supporting a local business - not the John Lewis empire.

  2. The good thing is that we are able to park right outside and Tom doesn't have to walk far.

  4. That sounds like a great place, we have nothing like that around here, unfortunately

  5. What a great idea to sell the art and food at the same place. They get free decorations and the artist get their sales that way. Many years ago maybe 34 years we had a place in St Petersburg Florida that we went twice a week because we just loved it and it was much like this

  7. It looks and sounds lovely. I had egg and chips and a frothy coffee from a Butty Bus last week. It was lovely to sit out on a picnic table.

  9. How nice to be surrounded my art and old books as you sip and relax. It's a good way to know if a piece of art really speaks to you or not before purchasing. If you love it, it will keep drawing you in and you'll not want to go back one day and see that someone has given it a home. You'll know if it belongs in your home or if it is just a flight of fancy adornment.
Sounds like you found one of those marvelous little nooks and I must say that brownie looks delicious.

  11. Sounds perfect, supports small business, helps and encoursges artists, recycles books, is personal and.... well it sounds perfect. (Mr T even wagered a let they'd let in a well behaved cat in a backpack. Tell Willow to give it a try.)

  17. Oh Briony, what a WONDERFUL little cafe!!!!!!! I don't blame you for going there so often... I most certainly would as well. I often tell hubby I'd love to live downtown and be able to walk to someplace like that. Now wouldn't that be just divine! ~Andrea xoxoxo
