BEFORE AND AFTER

 Remember these two little one's, Black Faced Valais' they belong to my son in Scotland.


Well they've grown big enough to be sheared for the first time.


Just look at them now, big and strong.



And here's some fleece that's going to be winging it's way down South to me.
I have a drop spindle and am going to get a couple of carders.
Then I will  wash it and have a go at making myself some yarn. 


Meanwhile two new big boys have arrived.
Pete hopes to breed these beautiful sheep next year. 
I'll keep you updated.

  4. Has Pete got a ram or will he be performing that particular task himself? Wellies are advisable.

    It will be very satisfying to use wool from sheep that are known to you.

  7. The sheep are so adorable! They really do not even look real, they look like stuffed animals. Wow, you can spin wool!! I am so impressed. You will have to be posting us photos of the entire process.

  10. They are like fairy tsle sheep with their wool on. I hope the fleece makes nice knitting wool - good luck with the spinning and we can't wait to see and read your thoughts on the process.

  14. I did not think those beautiful and strange sheep were real! I thought you were showing off some stuffed animals you had - WOW - incredible what God has wrought with those sheep! Amazing and so incredible looking!

  15. Those sheep are so flipping cute. I tried my hand at spinning and dyeing sheep fleece and it was great fun. I may have to dig out my kit and have another go.
